Jerry and his wife Carla, were instrumental in establishing the Shuswap Lifeboat Society which in turn operates Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 106 (Shuswap). Jerry was key in the beginning four years ago when he took the leadership in everything needed to bring this needed service to Shuswap Lake. He and Carla have chosen to move on to New Westminster where they will be closer to family.
Up until his departure, Jerry continued to provide a critical functional of dispatcher, receiving a call usually from BC Ambulance Service and then mustering a crew to respond to the incident. More than once if a crew member was not available, Jerry filled in wherever he was needed. The role of dispatcher is being carried on by Paul Keam.
Jerry, we wish you all the best in your new adventures, and a huge thank you for your years of dedicated service.
