Station 106 Shuswap will shortly have an upper hand with ‘Mother Nature’ through an enclosed boathouse facility which is secure and protective.

With a mandate of “Saving Lives on the Water”, 365 days / year, our vessels moored outside suffered the worst that weather could, and would, hand out.

Winter delivered snow, to become ice, to damage external electronics, to be cleared constantly. In summer, sun and heat scorched our inflatable side tubes.

Much brainstorming was incorporated into the project – a framework of steel beams on aluminum pontoons to provide durability; use of solar to self generate hydro and achieve electrical independence; the ability to attain BC Hydro credits annually to allow sustainability; and a host of eco-friendly “green” initiatives – including two heat pumps, integrated grey water containment, and the allowance for natural sunlight to beam into fish habitat below, to name just a few.

Our Grand Opening is scheduled for May 24th, 2025, commencing at 1:00 pm.
